I felt this the morning Fable 5 came back to market. The night before, I was already excited to wake up and get to work, and I went back and reread my own plan for the day Fable 5 returns so I would be ready the second it dropped. That is the tell. The people at the top are doing the work before the opportunity even lands. It feels like the morning of a draft, or the day you leave for a trip you have been counting down to. Those of us building at the top with AI feel that every single day.

Work ethic. Throughout all of history, work ethic has been the skill that separates who wins, and AI did not change that. AI changed the size of what a strong work ethic can create.

The people creating with AI at the highest level are producing the output of ten people, and they are working harder than they ever have in their lives. That combination is the whole game. Effort plus intelligence that compounds. The tool raised the ceiling. It did not remove the climb.

You can watch the split play out on your feed. On one side, a lot of energy goes into "I can tell this was written with AI, look at all these em dashes." On the other side, the top 0.1% are heads-down building infrastructure, agents, and second brains, and compounding all of it toward their goals. One group is playing gotcha. Does AI replace hard work?

No. That is the lazy story about AI, the one that says the tool takes over and people get to do nothing. The top of the food chain reads it the opposite way. We say thank you very much, and then we do more.

Here is how the work actually flows in the 92-8 system I run. About 92% of the business is run by AI and 8% is human. When I create, the first 10% is human. My vision, my values, my goals. Then AI comes in for the 80% in the middle. Then the human comes back in for the last 10% to validate and verify before the work ships. The effort moved. It did not disappear. Start from vision and values, not from grind for its own sake. I raised myself on hustle culture as a young entrepreneur, and that relentless dog is still in me. It never goes away. As I matured, I changed the tone. The pace stayed relentless and the fuel became vision, possibility, and the things I want to create more of in my life.

That is the human-first version of a strong work ethic. You keep the relentless pace and you point it at what matters to you. Building this way feels easier, better, and more flowing, because there is no gap between an idea you have and your ability to bring it to life.
