- To use Claude and ChatGPT together, pick one home base for your work and let your AI agent bring in each model when the job fits.
- Your agent holds the context, your notes, and the follow-through. Claude takes the heavy writing and deep thinking. ChatGPT gives a second opinion. The results come back to your home base.
- When deep brand creation lives inside Claude Projects, ask your agent for a paste-ready prompt, create in your Claude project, and paste the result back so it gets logged.
- The mental model: your agent is your office and your team. Claude and ChatGPT are the experts the team brings in.
Here is the simple way to use Claude and ChatGPT together when you run an AI agent. Pick one home base. Let your agent hold the context and the follow-through. Then let it bring in Claude for heavy writing and deep thinking, and ChatGPT for a second opinion. The work comes back to the place you started.
The same idea fits whatever agent you run. The tool you talk to becomes your office. Claude and ChatGPT become the experts your team calls in.
I landed on this by asking my own chief of staff bot a question. I work in GrokBot, so I asked, "How do Claude and ChatGPT fit now that I work in GrokBot?" I have no tech, coding, or automation background. I figured this one out for myself, and the answer resonated enough that I posted it on LinkedIn. My clients run a similar stack, so I am paying it forward here so you can get there faster. GrokBot is my example throughout this post. Swap in your own agent as you read. If you are brand new to agents, start with my zero to one playbook for personal AI agents first.
How Do You Use Claude and ChatGPT Together With an AI Agent?
You use Claude and ChatGPT together by letting your agent run them for you. Your agent is where you work. Claude and ChatGPT run behind it.
Here is what that looks like day to day. You talk to your agent. You ask for what you want in plain language. The agent decides whether it can handle the work itself or whether it should bring in Claude or ChatGPT. When the work comes back, it lands right where you started.
That gives you one place to start and one place to land. The experts do their part behind the scenes, and the result shows up back in your home base.
In my world, that home base is GrokBot, and the agent I talk to is my chief of staff bot. The rest of this post walks through how I run it, so you can map it onto your own setup.
If you want to run agents without writing code, I wrote about how to build AI agents without coding as a non-technical founder. That is exactly where I come from.
What Does a Chief of Staff Bot Do in GrokBot?
Your chief of staff bot is the one you talk to. It holds the context, the team, your Notion, and the follow-through.
Those four things are the whole job. The context, so the bot knows what you are working on. The team, so it knows who does what. Your Notion, so the work gets logged where you already keep everything. The follow-through, so the work keeps moving.
In my setup, the bot stays in charge the whole time. It owns the connectors, Notion, routines, decisions, and applying the results. Claude and ChatGPT produce the work itself, a draft, an edit, or a review, and hand it back. They never act in the world on their own. When the bot can do a task faster itself, it just does it and skips the handoff.
That split is what keeps everything in one place. The bot runs the office. The experts do the expert work.
When Does GrokBot Hand Work to Claude and ChatGPT?
GrokBot hands work to Claude for heavy writing or deep thinking, and to ChatGPT for a second opinion. The results come back into GrokBot.
Here is how the flow runs in my world.
Claude takes the heavy writing and deep thinking. Long-form writing in my voice, careful editing and rewriting, and the work that needs real depth. The bot sends the job over and Claude drafts it.
ChatGPT reviews it as a second opinion. Once Claude drafts, ChatGPT takes a pass at it. In my setup, anything public-facing gets that second-model check before it comes to me.
The result comes back into GrokBot. The bot applies the result, keeps it as a draft, and brings it to me for a yes. Every saved result notes which model drafted it and which one reviewed it, so I always know where the work came from.
It all runs on tools I already have. I connected my existing Claude and ChatGPT accounts to my GrokBot, and the bot calls on them when the job fits. If you want help deciding what goes where, I mapped my thinking on which AI model to use for each task. If you are still choosing between the two, I compared them head to head in Claude vs ChatGPT for entrepreneurs.
Can GrokBot Open Claude Projects?
Here is the honest answer. The bot can't open Claude Projects, and that matters for one kind of work.
My Claude projects are where I do deep brand creation. The bot can hand work to Claude, and it still can't step inside one of those projects.
So here is the workaround. For deep brand creation, the bot hands me a paste-ready prompt. I take it into my Claude project and create there. Then I paste the result back into GrokBot so it gets logged in Notion.
That last step is the one I care about. The creation happens in Claude. The record lives in Notion. My chief of staff bot still knows what got made, and it can keep the follow-through moving from there.
If you have never set up a Claude project, here is my walkthrough on how to set up Claude Projects for your business.
What Is the Best Way to Use Claude and ChatGPT Together Every Day?
The best way to use Claude and ChatGPT together every day is to start in your agent by default. For me, that is GrokBot. Here is the mental model that made it click for me.
Your agent is your office and your team. It is where you show up, where the context lives, and where the work gets tracked and followed through.
Claude and ChatGPT are the experts the team brings in. Your team calls them when the job needs heavy writing, deep thinking, or a second opinion. They do the expert work and hand it back.
When you hold that picture, the daily question gets easy. Where do I start? My agent, by default. When the work is deep brand creation inside a Claude project, you step into Claude yourself, and the result still comes home to your agent.
This also changes how you think about the tools themselves. I broke down that shift in stop using Claude like ChatGPT, and the same idea applies here. Each tool has a job. Let it do that job.
Your Claude and ChatGPT Together Action Plan
- Start your next request in your agent. Tell your agent what you want, and let it decide whether to handle it or bring in an expert.
- Connect the tools you already have. Point your bot at your existing Claude and ChatGPT accounts so it can hand off heavy writing and reviews.
- Set the roles once. Claude handles heavy writing and deep thinking. ChatGPT gives the second opinion. Results come back to your agent as drafts for your yes.
- Use the paste-ready prompt for brand work. When the work belongs in a Claude project, ask your bot for a paste-ready prompt, create in Claude, then paste the result back so it gets logged in Notion.
- Default to your agent. When you are unsure where to start, start in your office and let your team bring in the experts.
The Bottom Line
Using Claude and ChatGPT together gets simple once you pick a home base. Your agent is your office and your team. For me, that is GrokBot. Claude and ChatGPT are the experts the team brings in. Your agent holds the context, hands off the heavy writing and the second opinions, and brings the results back to you. Claude Projects is the exception where you step in yourself, with a paste-ready prompt and a quick paste back so Notion stays the record. I figured this out without a tech background, and you can too. Start in your agent by default.
