- The simplest way to send Fathom transcripts to Notion is to connect both tools to Claude, then tell Claude where each call goes.
- Create one database called a transcript inbox so every call has a home.
- Change the Notion and Fathom write permissions to always allow on the connections you trust, so Claude can do the work without stopping to ask.
- Start by hand after each call, then give the job to a personal agent that sweeps your calls every day.
Looking for a way to send Fathom transcripts to Notion? Connect Fathom and Notion to Claude, create a transcript inbox in Notion, and ask Claude to move each call there when it ends. That gives every conversation a permanent home your AI can read and build on.
I walked a team I coach through this setup on a working session. Their question was simple: "So how do we do that and organize it?" My own routine after a client call went like this. "The second it's done, I jump into Claude." I would tell it to pull the transcript and throw it into my transcript inbox in Notion. "Boop, drops the whole thing in there."
How Do I Send Fathom Transcripts to Notion?
Once both tools are connected, you ask Claude in plain language. Open any chat at the end of a call and say, "Send the call with [name] to the transcript inbox in Notion."
"Boop, done. It automatically logs it."
Someone on the team checked the logic out loud: "And you're telling Claude to do that." Yes. Claude pulls the transcript from Fathom and writes it into Notion. As I told them, "Claude's the middle of all this."
What Do I Need to Connect Claude to Fathom and Notion?
You need two connections inside Claude, one for Notion and one for Fathom. In Claude, open Customize, search for the tool, and click connect. If you want the longer walkthrough, here is how to connect Claude to Notion.
Three details matter here:
- Check permissions. On an organization account, you may run into permission sharing and a request for access. Each person on the team needs their own connection.
- Set write tools to always allow. Each connector has read tools and write tools. We changed the write tools from needs approval to always allow, because we want Claude to write this for us. If Claude keeps asking you to approve the same action, treat that as "a little light bulb" telling you to go update the setting.
- Validate and verify. After you connect a tool, say this to Claude: "Fathom is now connected. Can you validate and verify?" That gives you a receipt.
I also keep this work inside a Claude project. "I prefer everything I do lives in a project in Claude. The reason is the intelligence compounds itself."
How Do I Set Up a Transcript Inbox in Notion?
A transcript inbox is a Notion database where every call lands. You can ask Claude to build it for you.
On the call, I spoke the request straight into my own Claude and asked for one of two things: a copy of my inbox, or a prompt the team could run themselves. Then I dropped the prompt into Slack, and they pasted it into their Claude.
We made one small edit first. My version talked about clients, and their calls include partners and other people, so we changed the wording to fit how they work. Your inbox should match your business, so read the prompt before you send it.
When we opened their Notion after running it, one of their calls was sitting there. "So now you guys know, oh, okay, all of our transcripts can live in here."
Why Is Fathom Not Recording My Meetings?
Start with your auto capture settings. Someone on the team noticed a meeting from that morning never recorded, even though it was on the schedule.
We opened the gear icon in Fathom, went to the auto capture settings, and looked for the option to auto capture unscheduled Zoom meetings. The Zoom connection showed as partially enabled. So we did what I do with every error: "We take a screenshot and say, Hey Claude, how do I fix this?"
Once the connection read fully enabled, we turned on auto capture for unscheduled Zoom meetings.
Like any program, a note-taker can have a bug on occasion. Your transcripts hold too much intelligence to lose, so I run a backup. "My mindset is two is one, one is none." I record a second version using Notion's transcript, which happens in the background.
Can I Automatically Send Fathom Transcripts to Notion?
Yes, and that is where a personal agent comes in. Someone on the team asked whether connecting a calendar could trigger the whole thing, which is exactly the right instinct.
Here is how I explained it. A personal agent can look at my calendar, see the call, and 30 minutes after it ends go to Fathom and send the transcript to Notion. You can also run it as a daily sweep. Pick a time, "call it 8 p.m.," and have the agent drop all of that day's Fathom calls into your Notion.
I used a no-code automation tool for this kind of work and canceled it. I use n8n now, and it is super techie, so by no means do you need it. Automating this became an action item for that team's agent setup, and you can start the same way with an AI agent for your business. Until then, the manual prompt gets you every transcript.
Why Should I Send Fathom Transcripts to Notion?
Because a transcript in Notion becomes something you can use. "If it's written down, we can do something with it." I told the team they would have "the receipts of all the things that you've done," and that this turns into compounding intelligence.
We tested it on the spot. One prompt pulled a recent call and asked for the action items. Someone on the team also asked about getting a summary of their calls by the end of the day. Fathom already gives you a summary, topics, and next steps, and Claude can pull any call from there.
This is also why I care about storing your AI note-taker transcripts in a place you own. Your calls belong in a second brain, where the intelligence compounds. And the one phrase I want you to use all the time as you organize it: "make sure this is readable for agentic AI."
Your Next Steps
- Connect Notion and Fathom to Claude.
- Set the write tools to always allow on the connections you trust.
- Ask Claude to validate and verify both connections.
- Have Claude create a transcript inbox in Notion, and edit the prompt so it fits your business.
- Check your Fathom auto capture settings.
- After your next call, tell Claude to send the transcript to your inbox.
- When that habit is working, hand the sweep to a personal agent.
Start With Your Next Call
Every call you have holds intelligence your business can use. Give it one home and your AI has something real to build from.
The second your next call ends, tell Claude to send it to Notion. Then ask it what you should do next.
