Mastering Time Freedom: The Keys To Abundance & Peace
“The shift takes place the moment you embrace one profoundly simple truth: you’re where time comes from.” – Gay Hendricks, The Big Leap
Creating time freedom is one of the most valuable skills you could ever cultivate. It opens the door to abundance, possibility, and peace. Over the last 21 days, as part of the Master of Time Challenge within the Unlimited community, I’ve gone on an exploration into auditing my relationship with time. My goal? To share the biggest lessons and takeaways from this journey, so you can create more time freedom too.
What Is Time Freedom?
Time freedom is the ability to consciously design and manage your time in a way that aligns with your vision, goals, and desires, allowing you to live a life of fulfillment and peace. It’s about moving away from the traditional constraints and pressures of time scarcity and embracing an abundant mindset where you are in control of how you spend your time.
Time freedom involves being intentional about prioritizing activities that bring you joy, productivity, and personal growth while eliminating those that don’t serve you. This shift in how you view and use your time can lead to a profound transformation in your overall well-being and satisfaction.

You Are the Source of Time Freedom In Your Life
Embrace the profound truth that you are the source of time, empowering you to create a relationship with time that serves you. This concept, inspired by Gay Hendricks’ “The Big Leap,” emphasizes that you control your time. When you internalize this truth, you can intentionally design a relationship with time that aligns with your deepest desires and goals. This shift in perspective opens the door to abundance, peace, and possibility.
Recognizing that you are the source of time allows you to move beyond the scarcity mindset that often plagues us (as an entrepreneur I experience this often which is why I am so intentional about designing my mindset). Instead of feeling that time is slipping away or that there’s never enough, you start to see time as something you create and manage. This empowers you to make deliberate choices that enhance your quality of life. By being the source of your time, you take control, and in doing so, you can create a life filled with more presence and fulfillment.
Intentional Planning To Create The Life You Want
Design your days to include activities that bring you joy, productivity, and fulfillment. Intentional planning is about proactively structuring your day to ensure that your most important tasks and desires are prioritized. This involves setting aside specific times for when you want to work, relaxation, and self improvement activities. By doing so, you create a balanced day that aligns with your goals and values.
During the 21-day Master of Time Challenge, I discovered the importance of planning with intention. Using tools like a 10x planner and a digital calendar, I scheduled my days to include focused work sessions, time for exercise, and moments of relaxation. This practice not only increased my productivity but also brought more joy and fulfillment into my daily routine. Intentional planning helps you stay on track and ensures that your time is spent on activities that truly matter to you (which is an area so many people fail).
Awareness Practice
Implement consistency practices that increase awareness of how you use time, that way you keep it top of mind. Creating this heightened awareness is crucial for understanding where your time goes and how you can make better use of it. By seeing it more often, you gain deeper level insights which allow you to create more time freedom. It also gives you the ability to throw the excuse of “I forgot” in the trash.
One effective method I used was setting a timer on my Apple Watch for 30 minutes. I would see how many Pomodoro sessions I could get in a day, which was an easy way to track my time. How I used the time was less important than my awareness of it. It also helped me focus on creating more in the moment.
Gratitude and Positive Reflection
Cultivate a positive perspective of time by reflecting on what you are grateful for and appreciating the time you have. Shifting your focus from scarcity to abundance involves regularly acknowledging the positive aspects of your life and the time you have. This practice can transform your relationship with time and reduce feelings of stress and overwhelm (something every online business owner and leader experiences).
During the Master of Time challenge, I made it a habit to reflect on my day and identify moments of gratitude. Whether it was appreciating building a fort out of cushions with my son or smiling from a good vibes text rom a friend, these reflections helped me maintain a positive outlook. By focusing on what you are grateful for, you can create a more balanced and fulfilling life, appreciating each moment rather than feeling rushed or pressured.
Permission And Boundaries Around Your Life And Career
Give yourself permission to say yes or no to activities based on their alignment with your vision, goals, and energy. Setting boundaries is essential for protecting your time and energy. It involves making conscious decisions about where to invest your time and learning to say no to activities that do not align with your priorities.
Throughout the 21-day challenge, I evaluated my commitments and made intentional choices about what to focus on. By setting clear boundaries, I was able to prioritize meaningful things that lit me up and aligned with my goals. This practice not only reduced stress but also ensured that my time was spent on activities that brought me joy and excitement. Giving yourself permission to set boundaries is a powerful way to take control of your time and energy. It’s also one of the biggest areas where most people don’t have a lot of self control.
Utilizing Transitional Time
Make the most of short periods of time between tasks by either engaging in small productive activities that fill you up or allowing yourself intentional moments of rest where you don’t have to work. Transitional times, such as the few minutes between meetings or projects, are often overlooked or wasted but can be effectively used to create more growth.
During the Master of Time Challenge, I experimented with different ways to utilize these short periods. Sometimes, I would use the time to complete a quick task, like posting an IG story or replying to some comments. Other times, I would take a few moments to meditate or relax, allowing myself a brief mental break. By making the most of these transitional times, you can maintain momentum throughout the day while also ensuring you don’t burn out. Remember: part of self-care is treating your mind right. You have the ability to choose how every moment of your day goes.
Energy Management
Be mindful of your energy levels throughout the day and plan your activities accordingly to maintain harmony and enhance your well-being. Managing your energy is just as important as managing your time. By aligning your activities with your natural energy levels, you can enhance your productivity and well-being. Remember: not all energy and time is created equal. You will feel a different energy in the morning than you do at the end of the day.
During the challenge, I paid close attention to my energy fluctuations and planned my activities accordingly. For instance, when 9 am hits I’ve got radiant energy so I’m more likely to record a podcast or video. On the flip side, I know at 3 pm every day my energy levels are lower, so I’ll schedule less demanding tasks after then. This energy management practice allows me to get things done in a way that best serves me, without the judgement and feeling burnt out.
Scarcity vs. Abundance Mindset
Shift from a scarcity mindset about time to one of abundance, recognizing that you control your time. Adopting an abundance mindset involves recognizing that you have the power to create your relationship to time This shift in perspective can lead to greater peace and fulfillment.
Throughout the 21-day challenge, I consciously worked on shifting my mindset from scarcity to abundance. Instead of viewing time as something that was always going away from me, I saw it as something that was flowing and abundant where I dance time time. This change in perspective allowed me to feel more in control of my schedule and less stressed about fitting everything in. Embracing an abundance mindset helps you focus on what you can do with your time rather than what you lack.

Permission To Pause And Working Less
Give yourself permission to take breaks and acknowledge the importance of downtime. Taking regular breaks is essential for maintaining your energy and focus, especially if you are an entrepreneur or business leader with a family or who lives a full life. Acknowledging the importance of downtime can help you recharge and prevent burnout, which will also help you enjoy life more.
During the Master of Time Challenge, I made it a point to take regular breaks throughout the day. Whether it was a short walk, a quick meditation session, or doing some journaling, these breaks helped me stay refreshed and vibrant. Giving yourself permission to pause is crucial for maintaining a healthy and sustainable routine, allowing you to perform at your best without feeling overwhelmed.
Strategic Action Towards What You Want To Create
Identify and prioritize the activities that align with how you want to spend your days and time. Strategic action involves making deliberate choices about where to invest your time and energy to achieve your desired outcomes. This means focusing on high-impact activities that align with your goals and values.
Throughout the 21-day challenge, I identified key activities that were most important to my personal and professional growth. By prioritizing these activities, I was able to make significant progress towards my goals while also ensuring that I was spending my time in meaningful and fulfilling ways. Strategic action helps you stay focused on what matters most, enabling you to make the most of your time and achieve a better work-life balance.
